The ultimate for pain relief!
AuriculoTherapy operates on the same principle as acupuncture - modern approaches such as electro- stimulation, infra-red light, light source, etc., are used as an alternative to needles.
These stimuli are applied to sensitive points on the ear which allow the body to release and heal by unlocking the energy flow to the corresponding area in the body. It also reduces stress levels, balances the meridians and associated systems.
Auriculotherapy is a method of stimulating the acupuncture points on the external ear for therapeutic purposes. Dr. Paul Nogier, a French physician, is considered to be the ‘Father of Auriculotherapy’. This technique can be applied to a variety of conditions, particularly acute or chronic pain syndromes.

To Feel Peace In Your Body: Auricular Therapy

How does Auricular Therapy work?
The principle of Auriculotherapy is based primarily on the somatotopic representation on the auricle of several somatic and visceral structures. It was discovered that some auricular points become hyper sensitive with some diseases, and then return to normal sensitivity with recovery. Paul Nogier established the principle that the shape of the ear is quite similar to the shape of a fetus with the head is at the bottom of the ear and the feet are at the top (the ear apex). In auriculotherapy, ear points can be stimulated by different methods such as inserting acupuncture needles, ear stapling, laser therapy, electro-puncture and ultrasound. In order for a stimulus to be effective it should be of adequate intensity. [Sator, Shlager]. Systemic release of endorphins (which are proven to be involved in human pain alleviation) after auriculotherapy was shown in several animal and human studies.
Auricular Therapy Benefits
Auriculotherapy has been shown to alleviate acute (including post-op) and chronic pain, decrease drug and alcohol addiction, provide smoking cessation, relief of nausea, and reduction of hypertension [Sator-Katzenschlager, Oleson].
According to the micro system theory, the effects of Auriculotherapy are not only limited to what is mentioned above but can also be used to relieve pathological symptoms in the chest, abdomen, pelvis and extremities.
