Fibromyalgia is a complex syndrome characterized by chronic muscular pain, tenderness and weakness, insomnia and depression. Some other symptoms may also be present. The most affected locations are the neck and upper back, shoulders, trunk, low back, and thighs. Women between 25 and 45 years old are the most affected group.
Fibromyalgia Symptoms
Pain is a characteristic symptom of fibromyalgia. Additional symptoms are fatigue, headaches, pelvic pain, restless leg syndrome, paresthesias, anxiety and depression. Symptoms can wax and wane over time.
